Rhino, how's is going with the Akubra? (Brian -it's the 'Aussie' hat)
Are you more comfy wearing it now?

I wear one in summer to keep the sun off my head, otherwise 'what you see (in my photo) is what you get'
My father, father-in-law, and a few close friends are all either bald or balding. I have to get my shots in when I can. My beard and hair may be greying (very rapidly at that too) but at least it is there for now. No harm intended

    Glen,

My wife absolutely HATES the Avalanche...don't ask me why, it's a Florida Panthers thing...I, on the other hand, prefer the Canucks! 8)

Hopefully they will get this mess worked out soon and get back on the ice!!

The Canucks are a wise choice, unless you were wnating a team will will ever win the championship that is.

I have a collection of 8 panel (Gadsby or newsboy) hats. I have ordered a caubeen from JByous. Should be here soon. Will let you know what it is like.

I have berets in several different colors, a lovat blue balmoral with an Anderson clan crest, a caubeen from JByous with an Ireland harp crest and a couple of "English berets". I also have a Stetson in a wester fedora style and a custom made hat similar to "Crocodile Dundee"s but in a dark camel color but I don't wear those with my kilt. The problem with balmorals and berets is that for those of us who wear glasses they don't give any rain protection. The more I think of it I'm kind of surprised that there isn't a traditional brimmed hat from Scotland that would afford better weather protection.

Graham the Akubra is now much more a part of my every day kit and I don't give it much thought anymore although I usually have to have a reason for wearing it, rain normally.
If I wear anything on my head in warm weather I'm in serious danger of keeling over through heat exhaustion
    Cheers Rhino
