Yeah Rocky came back and told me pretty much the same thing, but I'm an impulsive type so I went and ordered the first half decent looking one I saw online.

If nothing else this has rekindled an interest in leatherworking so I can add a personal touch to my wardrobe if I don't completely screw it up.

    Ahhh! It was YOU!!

No wonder I didn't get through to her. Was 0 for 5...

Did get home to a message she left after I went back to work.

By the time I had a break between clients to call again they were closed...so, maybe Monday.

Sporran straps are such a mystery...no one shows the hook up end...like its some big secret...

The local horse tack shop was locking up as I raced there after work, but I know they'll be open. She asked what I needed and I attempted to describe a sporran strap with the hooks I needed and got "the look"

So tomorrow I'll take my sporran in and see what can be rigged up.

Even though I already ordered one, I'm going to get some leather and various fasteners to tinker around and see if I can make a better mousetrap. The Craigie one I ordered doesn't appear to be adjustable. I'm sure it will be fine but I'm a geek and geeks like to be able to adjust things. It's an inherent need.

    Very nice...so, tell us more.

    Colors, price, adjustability....?

Wanna give you an order for a black one and a brown one...

    sporran straps?

I'm going to start wearing my new USAK to work at least once a week, and I'm worried about the wear and tear that the chain on the USAK "Rob Roy" day sporran will apply to the kilt. Also I don't think that the wrap-around chain works well for bigger guys like me. I'm thinking that it would probably be better to use a shorter strap(s) against the front belt loops.

Does anyone have some good sources for inexpensive sporran straps/chains that are made to use the front belt loops? Eventually I'll figure out how to work with leather and make something nice of my own, but in the meantime I'd like to just buy something premade. Something that uses easy clips would be ideal.
