I had a thread about this a couple of days ago in the accessories forum. Mine should be arriving by post in a day or two. I have a terrible problem with pooching and hope that this looks better with my prominent belly.
PSS...In case anyone is interested (and I appologize for the waste of bandwidth if you are not)...I just found another link for a great looking sporran sling.
Here it is: http://www.thewretchedwench.com/Scot.../MAS-1900-html
.....but I still like the "jerry-rigged" one I made up.

I like that one. Nice. I already ordered the Craigie and it should be here any day now. I'll let you know how it goes. Though I'll probably need to punch another hole in my belt to ratchet it down tighter to hold up the extra weight.
Pooching is something that happens to overweight guys wearing sporrans. The sporran chain drapes somewhat loosely over the hips and only goes through one belt loop, all the way in the back. Well the chain can get under the love handles and cause some of the kilt fabric to bulk up above the chain. This requires me to periodically adjust my kilt throughout the day to counteract the pooching effect.
It can also push the sporran down under the belly which puts additional tension on the chain, making it pooch more, and just plain look bad.
The sporran sling eliminates this by suspending the sporran from the front of the main belt and eliminating the chain all together.
