Will buying a kilt from you be sufficient penance?

And in re-reading the post above, it is just wrong for this board.
I must look at things differently than some of you guys.
NancyMan isn't wearing panty hose or tights or a slip, like I've heard recommended. He's wearing men's hockey gear under his kilt. Which is the feminine solution?

I wasn't aware you had winter in Vancouver.
It's true. It rarely gets below -15 celcius in Vancouver. Not freeze your nostrils cold, but chilly enough to pull my socks up. I find it invigorating.
Your post reminded me of coming in from my sundeck, barefoot, wearing a 4 yard kilt and a tee-shirt and hearing on the news that it was snowing in Calgary.
We all sadly shook our heads and thought, "those poor people in Calgary."
Then someone snorted when he couldn't hold in the laughter and we all cracked up. We laughed until we had to get cold drinks to cool down.
Ah, the golden memories of early Autumn!

Solution - (tartan or other) cycling shorts!
Here is the solution - get a pair of long (cycling length) undershorts that reach to just above the knee (tartan if possible, plain black if not) - available in most sports shops. When the temperature drops to -20 C or less, even a heavyweight lined kilt probably won't help.
Incidentally, anyone ever come across a pair of tartan cycling shorts? I would like a pair - for the bike!
Cheers,
Niblox

Niblox, I have a dim recollection of rowing shorts (may have been rowers spandex though) in animal print, denim and even tartan at a past regatta, so I bet you can find them somewhere!

I was at a church cook-out yesterday evening. The kilt I was wearing was a Stillwater HW in Blackwatch(wool). The temp. started out in the mid sixties and soon dropped to the upper fifties.I had several people ask me if I'd wished I were wearing longjohns.

But what was your response?

My response was a simple no.There were also similar questions regarding tights and panty hose.Everyone asking was friends and family so it was all in good humor. Aside from a light jacket I stayed very warm.

Thought so! I have had the same question from co-workers, now that they have gotten used to seeing me in a kilt. I respond that Scotland in the summer is at least as cold as Chicago in the winter!

My favorite response to "Aren't you cold?" is kilts weren't invented in Barbados y'know.

Bubba, a good response as well. I have actually been referring to you, and our kilted Canadian brethren, when asked this question.
It makes one wonder if you would be asked "Aren't you hot?" while wearing a kilt in Barbados! And I don't mean Bubba specifically you heathens, he is not my type (no offense) I just prefer someone whose legs look better than mine in a skirted garment, not that Bubba's legs look bad... just not my style!
