Kilt night in NC?
We have quite a few members in the state now. None too far away from a central spot, only takes 6 hours Jacksonville to Boone. With the holidays coming on its not a good time but how about something after the first of the year?
Just a thought so cipher on it for a while lads. I've gone as far a Charlotte just to smoke cigars and a night to make new friends in kilts sounds ever so much better!

Awesome idea!!
YES! awesome idea. I would be all for it. The Triangle, the Triad, or the Queen City would all be great central-ish locations for those in NC, the "Upstate" of SC, or for southern VA.
I am in the Triangle, 2 hours from the Triad, and 4 hours from Charlotte. And I can get free lodging near Charlotte; my parents live in Shelby, NC.
We might also want to make it a point to meet up at the Loch Norman Highland Games in April of '06.
Heck, as XMarks grows, I anticipate seeing "XMarks" tents at various HG's.

No, it was several GREAT cigars. Among cigar smokers a "cigar night" is much like a kilt night. A chance to meet, get together, make friends and share what all enjoy.
As a just in case, I'll get hold of some of my family, Concord/Mt. Pleasant area, for any good pubs in Charlotte. I'm close enough to RDU to check around there myself.

I'm for Charlotte too. They have a great pub uptown as well.
RiRa's. They even have a room that could be reserved.

NC Kilt Night
I just joined after reading the posts about a possible kilt night...I hope I haven't missed it! Here in Winston-Salem there is a resturaunt "Celtic Cafe"

Every friday and saturday night they feature live "celtic" music. The place has a pubby feel to it. Just a thought!
Always,
Drew

Drew, welcome aboard. I was looking at your profile... you work at Old Salem?... Shoemaker?!?... I used to work at Old Salem in the shoe shop!!! It was a while back though... I can't remember which year... wait... the summer before I went to bootcamp, must have been the summer of 95 that I worked there.
I spent my whole time in the shoe making leather goods. That was one of my all time favorite jobs, and also the least paying. Both my parents are into living history, so that job seemed second nature to me.
Uh, small world.
