Actually, the Compendium lists the House of Edgar tartans for both Sligo and Laois. They are quite different from both offerings from Marton Mills. Which are the ones Rocky has? I like the House of Edgar better for the Laois but the Marton Mills Sligo comes out on top for me.

Yes, we have PLENTY of the Ireland's National left. I made 30 kilts for our "Off the rack" offerings and had about 40 M left over.

Which Irish Tartans do we have? BOTH! Luckily, we have accounts with both HOE and MM and we have access to ALL of the "Irish tartans". The Sligo that I PHYSICALLY HAVE in the shop right now is the MM one... My family (McKeown... aka MacEwan) was from Sligo, so I bought it for myself, but haven't had TIME to make it yet. I figured that I would offer it up if someone needed it (I can always order more).

The Laois from MM is stunning, to say the least. The online rendition and even the swatch book do not do it justice. I am also considering a Sligo (MM) since Rocky has the fabric in stock. Funny, Rocky, when I mentioned to you today that 'Mom would be happy if I got a Sligo' I should have mentioned the name. Her family is also McKeon (slight difference in spelling), but Sligo as well.

I will get some pics up soon of both new MM, the Laois and Sligo.

    Second

I can second that both kilts are great, HoseHeads wife will be the envy of the black tie affair tonight, no matter what kilt he wears.

As always the visit to see Rocky and Kelly was worth the two hour drive out there. For those of you who haven't met the two they are great people to meet and talk with. The store is also full of amazing celtic items.

Now that has me jonesing BIG TIME...glad you got your's Killians...think I'm only five weeks out from my order...big fears I won't get mine until after they're back from the trip to Scotland....suppose I can wait, should still be plenty of time before St. Paddy's Day.

Seeing all the great posts has me reassured I did the right thing to order one up. :-D
