Bubba,
I had a look at that information (it's nearly a disclaimer, but appropriate nonetheless) on Jerry's site this morning, and I was pleasantly surprised to read his statement "We have taken steps to ensure that counterfeit Irish National Tartan™ products will no longer be offered for sale in the US." I totally agree with using caution when buying such items on eBay.
Bob C,
No attack was intended against Mr. Steinrok but rather a clarification of my original post since it was obviously misinterpreted by Mr. Steinrok. Coincidentally, your own attack against me was completely uncalled for. That's my personal bias.
Rocky,
Well said. I do wish to point out that the Heritage of Ireland tartan, although in my opinion an obvious ripoff of the Irish National, does take steps to avoid copying HOE's Irish National by using a white stripe between the yellow/gold stripes, rather than a yellow and black stripes between a white like Polly Wittering's Irish National has.

The "Heritage of Ireland" AKA "Irish Heritage" tartan was specifically developed, as Rocky mentioned, as a response to the recent actions taken by HoE and its licensees. In my opinion it is clearly a "derivitave" of the original Irish National Tartan™ and of questionable legality.

Thanks to my wonderful mother I have an Irish National from Rocky ordered! At first she said no, but eventually, she saw that I needed a kilt for St. Patty's Day! Just one more reason to raise a glass to ole Patrick!

Whoa! Glad I got a legal tartan from Rocky.
Here's pics of my options for St. Paddy's day...maybe should do a St. Paddy's week insead.
First is the Ireland's National tartan in a baja from Creative Irish Gifts with my caramel ("saffron") Utilikilt workman's.
Other is the Ireland's National USAKilts semi-traditional.
No pics yet, but also have my saffron leather RKilt and a Northern Arizona Irish Foundation t-shirt.

Well, I just ordered the Ireland's National casual from Rocky, out of his off the reack stock. He may not know it yet, unless he has checked his email in the past few minutes. Tried calling the shop, but I am guessing they were busy with customers, which is great. Can't wait to get it.
Also, Ron I had not looked at your pics before ordering, but you have me convinced that I will be able to wear this to the office. I thought it was going to be too bright, but with the oatmeal hose and shirt, it looks very nice.
In fact, I updated my order with Rocky to add some oatmeal hose!

KCW, you're gonna love the kilt....and, that's actally a shirt I bought at Wild West Mercantile down in Mesa, Arizona...a western reenactors store...made in Guatemala...when I saw it just knew it'd go well with kilts, got an olive drab one too.
For those folks with "office problems" can't think of a better time to push the envelope than on St. Paddy's day...would be near blastphemy to question an Irish tartan klt on St. Paddy's day.

I personally prefer the “Ireland’s National” to the “Irish National”. The latter seems to have so large a field of solid green for a background that it just doesn’t seem Tartan enough.
