from coastal North Carolina. Photo looks good to me, is that a Nightstalker or Black Watch - hard to tell from the photo.

Hmm, I don't know what just happened, maybe I accidentally deleted my reply when I wanted to edit it, if not then *oops* this is a double-post.
It's a SWK black watch in the picture, I'm still learning to handle the camera and I realize it's underlighted (it's supposed to adjust automatically but I guess the outside light pouring in messes with its sensors). I currently own SWK black watch and black stewart with a nightstalker and a hunting McLeod on the way! (I've been browsing this site for a while now )
I have enough to get comfortable with now and afterwards I think I'll try to get 1 kilt/month at first, being acrylics since I can "just wash" those, while getting more expensive wool versions later on. (though I'll go for nice shirts and a jacket or 2 first I think)
I know the socks weren't all that fashionable, mea culpa! It was all I had at the moment and real large wool socks made me look like a cross between a trapping hillbilly and some kind of crazed woodsman.
I must say I'm somewhat surprised that a big belt buckle is considered 'formal', I figured it would be the other way around, with an inconspicuous belt being 'formal' since that doesn't draw attention away from shirt and jacket? (goes to show I know jack)
(o well, I do like big buckles and I'll probably go hunt me a round one somewhere but I must say that the buckle + belt does help warn people that it's a kilt and not a skirt!)
thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

Welkom

A warm welcome from northern Norway!
I'm sure you will have a good time here.
Oh, being kilted is a state of mind - not whether you are of Scottish descent or not (many of us aren't).
