    Thanks for posting those, Rex.

I try to stick to my seasonal skin tone colors in my clothing, and a lot of tartans seem to have colors I really shouldn't wear. It just makes life a little easier to have a solid color kilt, or even a shadow tartan.

I revolt at combining plaids/tartans but I used to wear a dark grey plaid shirt with my solid black kilt, all the time. It looked a lot like Rons last picture.

Ron, can I adopt you as my kilt mac'daddy? This thread has got me thinking. A khaki kilt is a blank slate...Being the hippie that I am, I think it would be awesome to make on in some rather earthy tie dye. Or maybe a patchwork front apron! Or beads and embroidery! Oh man oh man...Theres a music festival I go to every year. The past 3 years theres been this one guy with his tent, and every year he lets people paint on his tent. It has some really neat images on it. That would be cool to do with a kilt. Just give it to different friends with artistic abilities, and have them add to it.

I have thought VERY hard about making a plain black X-Kilt with a wide front apron and then handing this kilt to a good friend who does embroidery and telling her....if she'd agree to it...

    GO FOR IT.

I'd love to see what I got back!

OK, off topic, I know I know!

Well, I have been thinking for some time about having a brown kilt made (haven't decided if it would be traditional or contemporary) and having some tone-on-tone embroidery done on the lower right corner of the apron in a style like you might see on embossed western saddlery.

Or maybe a brown leather kilt with REAL embossing...

At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Hippy beads, tie dye, what ever pops into your mind man... I think Moosedog does that tie dye kilt stuff man...

On the tent, some of the artistes that I work with do that to the rooms of their houses... There's always these Bob Ross types standing their talking about the little tree that lives by the lake... It's an artiste thing...

    kilt mac'daddy Ron, te he...
