Progress report, 1.5 pairs of garters done. One foot done on the hose. Eventually I will get to the post office while it is open but we're having transportation issues, my chauffeur (mom) is staying nights with a very ill old lady. I have taken photos but considering the dial-up has disconnected 4 times in the last 45 minutes... uploading will wait.

Do you get your yarn locally or over the net. If over the net what is you favorite site?
And BYW !@$^%$&^ this thread - I picked up my cirular needles last night and think I'll let the knitting machine sit for a while.

I have 3 places I can't stay away from http://knitpicks.com/ for basics.
http://shop.artsygal.net/ fiber and lovely handpaints, perhaps not ideal for kilt hose as they tend to be bright and multi-colored. Jas is very nice and lovely and I've known her for years.
and I mostly just drool and look at fiber on etsy.com

Nope, making the pattern as I go, and even trying to write the bleeding thing down, unlike my last try... might be the reason I never knit the second to that pair.

done, need to mail them now, and the pair for chase too.
The last three days has barely been anything but weave and knit, weave and knit. who knows how many hours i have in the garters but the hose have a good 12-15 solid hours in them already. I am lucky to be home on break where people don't expect me to go to get dressed, go class and maybe even be employed, future pairs may not get done nearly so quickly. I am trying to keep the small children and pets out of the work too.

String have you tried two socks at the same time?

I am tempted to try and have directions printed out, but I will try on something for me before I try on something for anybody else.
Oh and I stopped by the post office this morning, two sets of garters are in the mail.
