Sorry to hear that from a fellow countryman. It's the case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Pity you didn't have your kilt on, you could have done some damage with the sgian dhub. However, you probably would have ended up in the jail for using a weapon. Glasgow does get a good reputation, but occasionnally gets spoiled by the odd low-life or two. Wish you a speedy recovery.

I was wearing my kilt! I was just wearing my sgian don't bottle opener.
That said, I defended myself well enough and was on the phone to the police while he laid into me. I have a thick enough skull to get through it.
There were no witnesses but because of some of the circumstances the police may have a few ways to identify him.
Here's hoping.
In the meantime I am going to be spending some time with family and resting up.
