Is the retaining strap (for lack of a better term) elastic and attached to ever second or third pleat?
Way2 the work look great. It is amassing how many quality kilt makers are showing up in the states.

Ron,
I didn't make the white line disappear - Gordon Kirkbright of Fraser & Kirkbright did. The last run of XMTS tartan (the third major run) was different than the previous runs in two essential aspects: 1) it was done in 16 oz weight, and 2) the weaver reworked the layout to take the white line off the selvedges because of the color "bleed" caused by the blue threads turning back into the white area.
My XMTS kilt was done in 13 oz tartan from the second run.

Thanks Jamie - I've never handled a Military Box, and your pictures bring to light details much better than the drawings that I have seen.
I wish I could get close-ups like that with my digital.
Thanks again.
