no problems, i may go out there some day and ask them about it. (but, i think it's closed for the winter)
you posted this in another thread, so you'll know more about the differences of an abbey/priory/monastery than me.
also,
there was a ring found in a field close to the priory (after ploughing) by one of the farm workers, which came to the conclusion that a prior/monk (or whatever) dropped when walking to the priory, the crown bought the ring, believed to be a a good few thousand pounds.

Great! Do let me know what they say in that regard. 
Are there images of the ring anywhere? I'm curious to know how they determined it to have a monastic connection, since rings would have been forbidden to a monk. Lucky farmer who found it though!!!!

i dont know why they connected it with a monk/?/? dropping it, but it was in the local paper. there was not a picture of it. i knew the guy that found it, but that was a long time ago when i was young, but, i don't really know him now. i also pal about with the farmers grandson who's land he found it on, so i'll ask him about it.
i'll try and keep you imformed
