Lately I have been so buzy that I have been zipping throught the forum so fast just hitting highlights of things that do not just catch my eye, but reach out, grab me, and give be a hard slap This one caught me.

Hello and . At this point I usually add "from Memphis, Tennessee. Home of the blues & Elvis. But you here already

We Memphis kilties try to get together every once in awhile. I'll make sure you get my cell #.

Now when we meet up, remember .... no drinking. No talking rude or crude. No "bad" jokes. No playing gags on each other. No women in short skirts. We usually sit around someones living room, sip coffee, read from "War & Peace" or watch the latest romance movie to come out on DVD.

"Thelma & Louise" is one of Dirk's favorites. I hear he always gets misty eyed at the end.

Welcome from Houston! I was born in Memphis. I need to come to the Clamjamfrey someday.

'Jack Daw' is a clever moniker. For those who aren't birders, jackdaws are a species of crow living throughout the UK - actually all over Europe.

They have a distinctive call and behave similarly to American bluejays. I've enjoyed many a pint outdoors in Scotland listening and watching their raucous behavior.

I was wavering between "Jack Daw" or "The Masked Shrike". I'm still debating whether I made the right decision.

    My real name is also,

    Steve

I like "Jack Daw" the best. You can often here them in the background on UK programs broadcast on PBS.

Other good ones could be 'chough', 'chiffchaff', 'winchat', 'wagtail', and the ubiquitous 'blue tit'.
