My standard background is a picture I took while vacationing in Curacao. It is shot from the dining area of my resort (Breezes Curacao), looking out over the swimming pool to the Caribbean. It helps warm me up in the winter, especially on days like today: -5 degrees F this morning.
For my screen saver, it rotates among the pictures I have taken of the World Heritage sites I have visited.

For ages I had the Mackintosh tartan (what else on a G4 Mac) but my eyes started to go funny staring at all the lines, so now I have a peaceful wooded glade ( mostly green)

Nice photographs in this thread. My home desktop is my dog. At work it varies. Anything from Star Trek/space themes to pictures of electronic equipment. An occasional Dr. Who Tardis console picture tossed in to confuse people.

At work, I've got a series of photos of Scott Lake, up in the Cascades near here and at home, this pic taken overlooking Chaco Canyon in New Mexico.
