Gentlemen, thank you one and all for your responses. I have taken your advice to heart, and will adjust as needed. I've been doing a LOT of reading on here, and have learned a fair bit already. It's rare that you can find a group that is so willing to help a total stranger. Must be "the power of the kilt" I've heard about!
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

    First of all,

IMHO the sporran suspenders work better than the sporran strap for us gentlemen of substance, the sporran straps have a tendency to get caught under the lower belly and bunch the kilt up on top of the sporran. I find the suspenders work better for me than the sporran strap.

Your overall look is good, the kilt length is correct, if you raise the belt the sporran will come up with the belt. Keep finetuning your gear and everything will come together.

Welcome to the rabble. Ditto to all of the above, but let me add, above all...make the kilt yours! Be comfortable in it, the girls will love it.

CelticSire: I was just wondering how your outing went? Which day did you go and how did you like the event and wearing your kilt?

I was out there Sunday with my husband. It was his first kilted outing as well. He had a blast.

    Best wishes!
