Thanks for all the helpful info, guys! Ender, I'd love to go to that shop, but I'm going to be on foot, so I doubt that I could make it. (My wallet might be grateful! )
So who is definitely going to be there that night?

A couple of really popular places in Arlington and Alexandria are:
http://www.irelandsfourcourts.com/ - Run by Irish and a popular spot in Arlington
http://www.murphyspub.com/ - this place is always hopping on a Fri/Sat. night it's in Old Towne Alexandria area I think.
http://www.bilbobaggins.net/ - this place has great food and a large beer/wine selection
The Dubliner on 4 F St. NW in DC is near the Capital and the White house, great Sunday Brunch, but not the most well arranged seating unless you're in the dining room. Big bar and again run by Irish not Americans. I've been here a few times and always have a good time.
http://www.eamonnsdublinchipper.com/ - I haven't been here yet, but it too is in Old Towne and a lot of people have said good things.
If you want beer and lots of it, then I also recommend http://www.lovethebeer.com/brickskeller.html which has over 1000 different varieties of beer, and some say the food is good too!
Have fun in DC/VA!

http://www.royalmilepub.com/ - good place in MD.
http://www.theauldshebeenva.com/ - good place in Fairfax, VA (not to far from the mentioned TT Reynolds, which I used to love but since they coverd the red painted walls with White, the food has gone down hill and the crowd is all GMU students and I'm a little too old for that)
In Herndon - Ned Divine's. Don't like the one in Sterling, but Herndon is good food and on a Sunday afternoon, it's very easy to get a table. On Fri/Sat. nights it's a club not a pub.

Just to let you guys know that I'm all booked for traveling down there, so that, God willing, I'll be joining you for your meet on July 5th.
I look forward to meeting you all. Now my only question is what to wear!
Oh, please guys, DON'T change the date now.

I don't go for the food either. I used to love to go see live music there, but it's just different and i'm getting old.... I miss the red walls. My tattoo artist is across the street. You know they're shutting TT's down soon. Have fun at open mic night!! It may be one of the last chances to do that.
(sorry for the hijack, please return to your gathering topic)

Oh wow, a kilt midday in my (relative) area? Does anyone mind a kilted party-krasher?

Crap! BB, I will not be in your neck of the woods until 7 July. Will have to do an alternate kilt knight, I would like to hook up with you to show off that fine sporran you made for me and to see what is behind that Guinness glass of Tyger132.
