Mixing any Scotch with anything other than a tad of water or a couple of ice cubes is as close to a mortal sin as one can commit. There are lots of good Scotchs out there but Scotch is unique in taste and anything such as a cola or a seltzer takes that uniqueness away and you might as well drink Cosco whiskey.

I took a dive and bought a "budget" single malt called McClelland's, I liked it so I tried all 4. Highland, Lowland, Islay, & Speyside. All are differen, and all are tasty, and at about $35-30 each, what have you got to loose? I realy enjoyed the Highland and the Speyside.

I very much agree.
There are also times I would prefer a smoother whisky such as Balvenie and others where Talisker is prefered. And there are times that something in between is just right. That's why I keep trying as many different single malts as I can find at the store and usually have 3 or 4 on hand at any one time.

A few years back I tried and fell in love with Glen Ord. I can't locate it anywhere here in Tucson. The local purveryors haven't even heard of it. Anybody know where I can get some?
TIA
Rich

I recently acquired a bottle of 16 year old Glenturret, bottled from a single cask, at 50% abv. Soooo smooth, right out of the bottle, it needs nothing added to be amazing whisky. It was a gift from one of my sword customers, and a very nice gift at that ! I am most appreciative !

Hey Todd,
Have you ordered from this site? I thought that you couldn't import alcohol into AZ unless you were a distibutor. I'll check at RumRunner. I'm sure they can import it if I can't order it.
Thanks
Rich
P.S. If I score some, you'll definitely get an invite for when you come down next month.
P.S.S. On second thought, the invite is already sent. The only unknown is what and where.

Thanks, Rich, I am tucking that invite away for sure. No, I haven't ordered from them. And to be honest I don't know Arizona laws regarding that. I've always found my stuff locally.
I only glanced at the price briefly- then my heart was torn between new kilt or scotch, scotch or new kilt, so hard to decide.

I currently prefer Dalwhinnie. It is a 15 year old single malt. Out here on the West Coast it can be had at Trader Joe's for a reasonable price.
