yeah, but Clive has that feel and creates fills that emphasize the riffs of the guitar, "phantom of the opera" is good example. or his melodic drumming in "run to the hills".

Oh ya! Well, Tchaikovsky ripped off the Star Wars theme "The Imperial March" before it was even written!
I'm out of here , man!!

I miss Blaze myself. He didn't sound so great on most of the Dickinson stuff, but the DiAnno stuff? Man, hands down just fantastic. And his post Maiden band just plain kick a$$. I'd love for The Tour That Would Not Die to be The Tour That Brought B L A Z E To The US.

OK. I'll give you those. But have you heard what Nicko is doing on the new stuff? His single bass drum peddle technique is astounding- he's doing things with the single bass that death metal drummers need a double bass to do! Check out Face In The Sand! Nicko is faster and way more precise. Not to mention the pure passion the goofy SOB seems to have for everything he does...
(Oh, and I hate Run To The Hills. Bad example for me! Clive's drumming on Gangland, on the other hand, can't be beat.)

He didn't use a double live...

I'm staying out of this discussion... well, I'm having difficulty doing so... but I'm trying. I've been listening to Maiden since age 8 (1983!) and have very strong opinions on them, my favorite band... ever.
I love that there's a discussion going, however. That's awesome!

The fact of the matter is that if you are going to study Iron Maiden, then you should first study Deep Purple.
That is all I have to say.
