    Miracle Brooch

    Hi Hamish,

Try eBay, using miracle as the search in the category jewelery and watches. Miracle are still manufacturing in Birmingham and have a whole range of kilt pins - you will need to do a Google search for the address.

Many years ago, I did try wearing my regular kilt pins a little higher than is the current norm but ultimately I was not happy about that - it just did not feel right to me - and I returned them to the lower right-hand corner of the aprons. However, the idea of sporting something other than a recognised kilt pin maybe 17" above the bottom of the apron is truly appealing.

I have to ask you, Robert, where do you find such attractive items? Presumably dealers in second-hand or antique jewellery would be a source and I must start looking at their window displays instead of passing them by! Perhaps you have alternative suppliers - I am seriously interested in giving this a try for myself.

Thank you for your superbly inspirational photos.

    Take care,
    Ham.
    Regards

    Chas

I'm waiting to hear what Jock Scot says about having the blanket pin in a higher placement before I move mine.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I know you are not a fan of ebay, so why not go to the Miracle website here

Thank you, Chas, Glen and Robert - much as I do not understand the complexities of Ebay, I think I have just placed bids on three brooches, but seriously doubt if I will get them! I will also take a look at the Miracle website later.

I must have lived a very sheltered life - I have never even heard of 'Miracle' jewellery until today!

    Take care,
    Ham.

And I was correct. I have received E-mails from Ebay advising me that I was unsuccessful with my bids! Not to be outdone, I have now put in bids on two more which have a day or two to run.

    Take care,
    Ham.

Having now zipped through the Miracle website (how could I NOT have been aware of this years ago?), and not having much faith in my coping with Ebay, I have given them a small order for items that are available from stock and look forward to receiving it. I must admit, however, that I do find the lack of descriptive information against each item on the website somewhat annoying. I'm left with the feeling that I do not really know what I have bought - I will soon find out, I guess!

    Ham,

I felt the same way, but the good surprise was that much greater when the brooches arrived (quick and free shipping to France !).

I do hope you will be pleased.

I myself am a very satisfied customer of Miracle Jewellery.

    Best,
