I use two regular hangers as the Wizard of BC suggests. It works really well and I've been doing it that way for two or three years.

Two hanger method that's been described for the heavier tweed kilts.

Otherwise one kilt hanger per kilt.

I use kilt hangars. One per kilt, I might try out the multiple-hangar method one of these days.

I hang them on skirt hangers, then seal them up in one of two hanging garment bags that has some cedar blocks and moth cakes.

A single skirt hanger works fine for the SportKilts, but I use two for my USAK Semi-Trad, it's quite a lot heavier.

Sturdy wood hanger inside a "sealed" suit protector. This protects against moths and keeps the kilt dust-free.

When they make them with hanging loops (That's loops that are used for hanging), I use those, otherwise I just use pants hangers.

The loops are a holdover from the military and are not designed for long term hanging.

For the last 30 years my kilts have been stored on wooden hangers with notches at each end, the kilts being suspended from the hanging loops. Doesn't seem to have done them any harm In fact my fathers kilt, which i still wear was stored this way as well, so that's more like 50 years! Admittedly it's only 13oz, so not so much stress on the loops.

The kilt that I'm wearing day to day usually gets buckled, folded in half & hung from a hook on the back of the bedroom door, wardrobe handle or whatever's available.

I use one hanger (ladies skirt hanger with clips) at the moment in a suit bag, but since reading this thread, I'm going to use two hangers instead.

    Why do you use cedar?
