I don't like it, but I suppose it's just a matter of taste. There is already a St. George's tartan, and I'd much sooner wear a kilt made in that.

(If you find that confusing, I am English, although obviously of Irish descent, and I live in the US)

    Thats a garment-Culloden!

I remember the words of a Black Watch NCO when I got my kilt tailored and asked for their opinion on a German coming along and asking for permission to wear "their" tartan:

"Thank god - you're not English"

That kilt is no better than a T shirt with "Kiss me -- I'm English" written across it.

Members might want to read Rule 4 and reflect on how it refers to racism.

I wouldn't bother going down that road Chas. Racism only applies if it's the English speaking out. It never seems to apply to those who speak out about the English.

I am not a big fan of flag based kilts of any sort and that one would be murder trying to keep clean anyway.

Ladies & Gentlemen of X-Marks. This thread has already resulted in one report to the moderators. Chas makes a good point and I quote the rule for everyone to see:

    Rule #4
    - Intolerance for our fellow human beings, of any kind, is inexcusable behavior in today’s world.
Feel free to criticize the kilt because you don't like the color or design, but DO NOT bring issues of nationality in to the discussions.

I am glad my kilts are dark greens and blues, I'd have this white looking a mess the first day.

I am with you on this one, John. It is something of a novelty kilt, of course, but what is wrong with that if folks choose to wear it. There are several 'novelty' kilts in my Kollection and I would gladly add this one ......... as a gift! The price is £750.00!!

Opportunities for wearing it would be somewhat limited, and maybe I would never find one at my age, but I think it's great and indicates yet another path along which our beloved traditional kilt is evolving.

    Take care,
    Ham.
[PS: if anyone would care to donate this kilt to The Kollection, I will ensure full credit is made when it goes on permanent exhibition! ]
