Nope, I was an engineer. Ours were BT/MM/HT punches. But the department you were in would show when you were sent out. Like the time we sent a man with nine children out for fallopian tubes on the carrier. He met a lot of above the hanger deck folks that day. And reportedly got lost (several times) and found the Admirals quarters three times. Those of us involved in the division had our opportunity to ask for forgiveness as each of us were sent to those same quarters as movie projectionists for a week each. I guess the Admiral really didn't like movies as he had the only dual projector setup on the ship and the changeover didn't work quite right.
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

In combat, true happiness is always a belt-fed weapon
If it worked in practice, it will fail in combat.
Interchangeable parts aren't
Friendly fire isn't
Insect repellents don't
Experience in combat is something you never have enough of until after you need it.

Here is one for the retired US Army guys out there. The new name for E1s is "fuzzy" thanks to the horrible introduction of Velcro (R) to the uniform. There is no tab were rank will later be affixed.

This one beats them all...
The below link takes you to something called "Skippy's List". This list is a list of 213 things that "Skippy", a US Army Psyop Soldier, learned that he was not allowed to do as a Soldier...either through his own experience, or by observing his fellow Soldiers' interactions with the chain of command. This kid is every Non-commissioned Officer's / Commander's worst nightmare. His list is FREAKING HYSTERICAL!!!!
Skippy's List
Enjoy!

Ditto! Though I remember a few...individuals...who were definitely picked from the same tree as Skippy. I also remember one guy who was three or four IQ points from having to be watered twice a week.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.
