Kilts in Ireland.

As a Dubliner born and bred but now living in London. The only time you'd see a kilt in Dublin is either scottish people on stag/hen do's or when rugby or football matches were on. The only other time I can remember is when seeing the Irish army pipes band on TV once or twice.

Personally I wear my kilts three/ four days a week in London but wouldn't feel comfortable at all wearing one back home.

Something you may find interesting is that the 2010 World Pipe Band Champions were St. Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band (SLOT) of Dublin. They wear the solid green kilt.
