OMG! the come backs that came to mind! However, having PO'd the mods this week once already in another thread, I shall not risk banishment by replying.

    Been two weeks for me.

I'll even promise not to go regimental, if that would sweeten the deal...

OK guys, I got the stitch out of my side ( the reason I had to leave) , and we've driven this poor thread onto a dirt road.
In an attempt to get back on the rails - The very first "kilt" I got and still have is a nylon lycra Stewert tartan - no aprons really a skirt (did'nt know the difference at the time). Slip on and off, really great swing, super light weight, even holds the crease. Down side is if a dog couches in the next yard it is airborn. Kind of think a kilt made out of heavier stretch nylon?

I have a piece of safron-ish colored micro-suede uphulstry that was left after re-covering a bunch of chairs for a friend's restaurant. I bought the whole bolt at a discount with plans to recover my couch as well, but only did the chairs. There's easily enough for a kilt, in any style. It's heavy though. Very heavy. Any wind that would "Marilyn" it would probably damage buildings too. But the swing and drape would be awesome...not to mention the stain resistance!

Yeah, most microfibre would definitely be very heavy. I believe it's Ultrasuede brand (although I could be wrong) that makes a thinner, garment weight micro-suede.

At my last job I used to joke that I wanted a suit (black of course) made out of the perforated stuff.

Re: Most Peculiar Fabric Successfully Made into a Kilt?

Ok, I've held it as long as I can. The funniest idea I have heard is a kilt made out of fruit roll ups. Just think about the advantages, disadvantages and jokes - depending on the situation - LOL. Just please don't post them here. I don't want to be the one that knocked a thread off the track.

I don't even have the nerve to start a post on this one - it screams to get out of hand. - LOL
