So, do you think it would be disrespectful to wear my kilt to an event like this? I will most likely be the only kilted walker. I don't want to take away from the purpose of this event, but it would be a good opportunity for kilted casual wear.
I know most of you are going to say go for it because that's how we kilted roll. Really take some time to think this through and let me know what you think!
I wear kilts everywhere and to any event.

Buckybronco, perhaps wearing a kilt to an Englishman’s funeral would ensure that at least one mourner was wearing something original. If anyone took offence, I would say it was their own prejudices speakiing.

Remember, Remember, the Fifth of November! I'll be wearing my kilt at the local Guy Fawkes Day party here in Oxford.

I would add that the Susan G Komen fund has its own tartan (largely pink) registered. So wearing tartan at an event like this would not be out of place.

Not the Komen tartan, but I own this kilt.

Interestingly enough pink is becoming excepted as an alternate to the orange used by hunters in Mississippi. (We have so many women that enjoy that activity.) Pink kilts and orange kilts would pass the muster with the game wardens as long as 30% percent on the outer wear is a vivid color.

I hope you decided to wear the kilt - a demonstration of wide-spread support for the cause. Yesterday two others and I (no XMTS members) formed a kilted team for the Zero Prostate Cancer Run/Walk in Austin. We received repeated compliments and requests for a few photos.

Pink Stewart. That’s a new one on me.
But it looks fine, and it’s most appropriate for the purpose.
