i mean ok, a long coat as itself has the flasher look. but over there, what about an adjustemnt that makes nobody seeing my legs when i m sitting in the underground in winter.

another thing is, that every guy seeing me in a kilt in a really cold weather without a long coat would not only think im weird, what is no matter to me, but worse will never start thinking of wearing the kilt.

    Battle Dress Blouse...

The "Ike Jacket" (named after General Eisenhower), or the "Battle Dress" blouse in the British & Commonwealth forces is a very good jacket to wear with a kilt, because of it's cut -- it does not hide the pleats, and comes with a built-in belt at the bottom -- they look very sharp with a kilt, but if you are able to find one at an army surplus store, remember to remove all insignia that might still be on them (unless they are YOUR insignia, which is a different story!) -- Keep in mind that Canadian and Australian BD's are more "tailored" than their British counterparts, and that the US Army and Air Force both had versions of them, the USAF in a royal blue. Thomspon recommends them as an alternative to a day jacket, and they look good with either a shirt and tie, or a turtleneck.

I would love to get one of the US National Park Service Ike Jackets to wear with my kilt  and my Ranger hat.

    Cheers,

    T.

    Try this

http://ebay.com search for "Ike Jacket" there are a bunch on there right now from 9 up to 500 US Dollars.\ As was aformentioned they are named after the General and former President. I have one of my Dads

You will find some variations of the original on ebay with that search. The one in the picture in my previous post was on Ebay when I posted it.

    kilt jackets

I am like many of you starting out; that is making do with what's already in the closet. My taste is that a kilt looks better with as much of it exposed as possible. That means the shorter jackets certainly not below the top of the sporran. What I think works well from my closet is a typical "golf" jacket. A black or navy looks good with many kilts. - Alan

Since longforgan has resurrected this post I thought I'd update my earlier comment about looking for a leather jacket.

In cold, windy weather, this leather is as comfy as it can be.

Graham that is one nice looking jacket. I'm still looking for one for myself.
