Alright! Alright folks. I realise that not everyone is particularly fit or perhaps able to strike the new Mark II pose, and I will think about creating a Mark III - something less strenuous and demanding, but I will need a little time. We artistes rely on inspiration, y' know, and cannot just make up things like poses willy-nilly, out of the blue!
Actually, I have to be fair and honest: that photo was not exactly a high kick but was a static pose held for 10 seconds whilst my personal photographer, Tripod Self-Timer (Tri to his friends), clicked the shutter. Oh, and it was taken just over two years ago when I was 69 (very kind of TheScot to suggest 39. What does he want, I wonder?!). Indeed, I may not now be able to adopt that same pose myself, at least not with such precision - the medication I am now being given is inclined to make me less steady on my foot, but we'll see.
It has to be said that I really do not understand the reluctance of so many of you younger fellows to give the Mark II a try. It seems you are all afeared of frightening the horses and suchlike! What are ye? Mice or men? I do assure you that there is little chance of exposure if the pose is executed correctly and in suitable settings, such as very dark rooms! You will have learned the techniques of sitting and getting into and out of cars whilst kilted, and you will soon learn the technique of the Mark II whilst kilted (and no, there will not be an instruction video!!). So let us have no more of this shilly-shallying .......... your Moderators and I want results. Guie us piccies!

I don't know if I should attempt that pose, at least not in a mini-kilt. Well, it's not shorter than my old dance team skirt, but still.

Ok. I'll go first. I accept the challenge of the Hamish Mk II. You'll have to excuse the sun in my eyes.

You know, it was rather hard to hold that pose long enough for my wife to take the picture, what with her laughing herself silly.

There you go, Guys! It is not so difficult is it?
Two really splendid HMIIs, one each from Jim and TartanHiker. Then we have a brave, somewhat limp-wristed attempt by Dirka, a great one-legged 'Dread' by Dread (which hardly qualifies as a HMII !), and The F-H.C.A.G. gives us a spirited and impressive something-or-other which is not recognisable as a HMII, but is nevertheless quite delightful.
Guidelines for the achievement of a Championship-quality 'Hamish Mark II' :
1) The body should be upright, with the head facing the front
2) The Right arm and the Right lower leg should be in line
3) The Right and Left arms should be extended in equal measure and both should be the same height from the ground
