As it happens, that is where I first wore a kilt -- about 45 years ago !!!
I was asked to represent the Scottish Society at what was then called "Freshers' Crush" to allow newcomers to make contact with all the clubs and activities available. Had to borrow the kilt, but soon decided I needed my own.
It took place in the college pub whose name escapes me.
I hope the place has had a coat of paint since then!
