Wow! Thank you everyone for the brilliant 'Welcome Home' - you are all truly amazing.

Yes, Vista is going to take a lot of getting used to but then, for me, so would any change of computer. It is certainly behaving itself and everything is SO much faster than I have ever known, but many of the features I had on my previous PC are not compatible with this one (I don't know if that is becaue of Vista or the change to a HP computer). I have lost contact with my beloved photo editing programme, which came with my very first digital camera, and am told I may have to invest in Photo Shop or something similar to get anything like the same facilities back again. I must wait for Jim's next visit here to help me with that. Meanwhile my photos must remain untouched apart from a bit of cropping!!

Having been without a useable computer for several weeks, I have come to the realisation that there is a life outside of this room - and I like that life! The outcome of this is that I fully intend to step back a little from this keyboard from now on and my activities here will consequently be less than they were a month or two ago. Please do not take this personally - I love my visits here - but the amount of time I was spending sitting here each day, with sunshine, fresh air and friends outside, was ridiculous (and possibly unhealthy!). This will in NO WAY affect my passion for kilts, or my interest in promoting them as daily wear, and I will continue to 'acquire' them just as I have in recent years. I'll still be around X Marks but maybe a little less obviously - I am not going that easily!

Oh, and the Storrington Gathering will still be going ahead in June 2008, never fear! Just watch this space, or one nearby, for further details in coming months.

I am now going to try to put some new images in the 'Show us your pics.' section.............
