One of the few, but certainly not the only. I play those among many, many others, including, Northumbrian Smallpipes, Border Pipes, Scottish Smallpipes, Scottish Shuttlepipes, Veuze, Biniou Kozh, Flemish Pipes, various central French pipes including musette Bechonnet, Medieval pipes, Gaita (both Asturian and Galician), Leicestershire Smallpipes, English Greatpipes, Cornish Pipes, assorted parlour and ceilidh pipes, and naturally, uilleann pipes and GHB. (All of which I own). There are others too, but this is the list I could think of just off the top of my head. Love them drones!
to keep this thread on track, nah, playing and appreciating pipes isn't a prerequisite for wearing a kilt, but it sure doesn't hurt!

I was always a fan of Wolfstone. In high school if friends were taking the p!ss out of me for listening to "old fart music" like the chieftains or the battlefield band, I always used Wolfstone to try and introduce them to a broader musical spectrum.
Needfire was a band fitting that description that played at the Richmond Celtic Fest but my sis was dancing at about the same time, so I couldn't give them a proper listen. They're worth a quick glance; I believe they're online.

Chase, there's the Dropkick Murphys and The Tossers. They use both flute and pipes, though they're not main instruments all the time.
As for the pipes, I love them if they're played well and not overdone. I don't think riffing on a set of bagpipes like you would on a guitar sounds good. But the pipes played well can bring out emotions like no other instrument I know of.

Dropkick Murphys and the Tossers are ok, but they both identify as being "irish punk". Listen to The Real McKenzies for Scottish Punk!

Chase you might like the Mudmen
or Hunting McLeod
Two premier Canadian Celtic rock bands who use pipes, the Mudmen have two pipers on stage at the same time, it can get loud. They both put on great shows.
