It's slowly becoming spring again. Before long, I will go back to mostly wearing sandals for the lighter gardening which includes while wearing a kilt. Perhaps, I will work on clearing out some paths in my garden, lay down some soft mulch, then go barefoot sometimes when walking around the garden kind of like String was saying. That sounds nice. Barefoot in a kilt out in the garden.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I do hope to get some pictures to post of me gardening in a kilt at some point. That's been a lot harder than it should be. I don't even have a way to sign up for photobucket, but I'll keep working on it. I might even try to get a picture of a water hose for the garden...
It just seems to take a long time sometimes.

I've seen a few other threads lately with posts about wearing hiking boots with a kilt. There have even been some posts out there about sandals with kilts. There's a lot of talk about scrunchy hose, so I don't think I'm out of place with the thick knee high socks for gardening.
Also, in my gardening in a kilt thread, I have posted about prefering 3/4 inch hose in combination with gray water aplications. I have 1/2 inch oses mostly, but you use what you have.

I found some thick knee high, gray and black marl looking socks at Walmart today. They are about the same as the solid gray socks with the red stripe at the top that I found at JC Penny. They aught to do as well as the others. Before too long, it will be sandal weather out here.
As far as the watering hose goes. A while back I tried one of those roll out, flat hoses that are covered with a woven canvis-like cover... the sun ate it up right away, so thumbs down on those. The best so far have been the heavy deuty, rubber crimpless hoses, and by far.

The black rubber craftsman hose works pretty good and tends not to crack when freezing.

Oh wait.
You meant the kind on the lower leg . . .
I'd say the "soccer socks" would be good, as they are washable in machine and cheap enough to trash.

Yep, that's a good hose. If I remember correctly, it has brass ends with... turnability to them, so you don't have to turn the whole hose to tighten the male end into a stationary female hose bib or something like that. Yep good hose there, and the sun doesn't dammage it much either.
Just a bit too small to get your leg down in that hose. Na, I can talk either kind of hose. I want to get some brown Lewis hose to go with my Weathered Half Lamont.
