Check out this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=013 . There are enough sweaters to outfit a bunch of us.

Can someone put me out my misery, where is the connection that V neck sweaters are Commando jumpers?

Perhaps I am too loose with the English. A V-neck sweater in the Commando style - close-fitting, ribbed pattern, with shoulder and elbow patches. I've seen a Highland Regiment pipe band wear such. Feeling better?

Yes, we're just being a wee bit free with the word "Commando" The ribbed jersey, or standard Wooly Pully, as in my earlier photo, was generic to both the Army and RM. Our pipe band have just purchased V neck sweaters in the style you mentioned but they are just called pullovers. Using the "C" would would imply we are trying to be something we aren't.

    Jock,

In the US the term commando sweater is commonly used to describe this style of pullover.

    Found this on the subject.

    WARNING
    ADULT LANGUAGE INVOLVED

For those too faint-hearted to visit I discovered that the female version of the "Wooly-pully" is called a "Lumpy Jumper" for whatever reason.
