No, no, I think you mean Michael The Farlander is into looking at rainbows. Michael Faraday was definitely the 19th century electromagnetism and electrochemistry expert. (I am pretty sure we are completely different folks)

No! I am absolutely sure that Michael Faraday was into looking at rainbows in waterfalls. Especially when the wind was blowing through the water and making the rainbow disappear then reappear... Why else would he have a red-rubber-jiggly Gumby hanging from his rearview mirror!?
I think we all need another group hug.

Ever bite into a piece of aluminum foiol and get that electric feeling in your teeth? That's proof of something or another.

You really need real 'Tin' foil, not that aluminium stuff. As it happens I 'ave a large supply of this rare material on hand. It is only $100 per 8 inch by 8 inch square. And for the really hard to shield, we have lead foil as well. It takes an exceptionally bright individual to need this though, most folks do not radiate enough intelligence to require it.

I stole that quote from Riverkilt over in the "Alexander Graham Bell"'s birthday thread, and thought it somehow fit in this one...

yes, the kilt pin MUST discharge all the static electricity . . . otherwise the juice would flow through another "ground-pointing" extremity below the kilt's surface. With all the salinity in the urine and electricity's tendency to take the easy path . . . talk about PAIN!!

Mythbusters did this one. They determined that there isn't enough cohesiveness in a stream of urine to convey a shock.

Oh my! I can see the sparks now. With all this static talk I think I will wrap my bed with aluminum foil before retiring for the night. And just to think I sold my flux capacitor in last years garage sale. Along with my collection of 6146 and 811A tubes. CW and SPARK forever! In a kilt of course...
