In Florida, Flip-Flops are always considered acceptable for any attire that doesn't require a tie.

I met a female banker from CA. She was wearing a business suit and flip-flops. I refrained from asking.

The closest thing to bare feet

I've wanted a pair of these for a while now, even before I took up the kilt. I wonder how they'll look with my new woodlands camo?

I don't even know what to say except that they remind me of monkey feet. Banana!

Wow, those are interesting! At first look I thought they were a bit weird, but after going to the site, I'm kind of thinking about them... they might be nice for kayaking and around the house, maybe even around town during the summer. Good find!

They just make so much more sense than "typical" shoes. Just like kilts make more sense than pants

I have a pair of the fivefinger classics (I got them before they had any other style or i would have the pair that you linked!). VERY comfy, I will take a pic with my kilt on if you like...... It is a tank though, so a bit dubious about how it will look .

I've seen pictures of runners wearing them, and I must confess it takes a lot of getting used to visually. It looks as if they're walking around with painted feet. Maybe we should petition the company to make them in beige, so we can go for the 'Hobbit' look.

Oh my giddy aunt , I nearly fell off my chair laughing at these monkey feet. You couldn't even pay me to wear those with my kilt.
But I can see no reason why crocs or sandals can't be worn.
Personally I wear walking and hiking boots for casual wear and doc marten shoes for formal occasions. These can be jazzed up with removeable flaps, like the golfers wear on top of their shoes.
