I'm watching Six feet under and enjoying a nice glass of Ledaig. I'm half way through getting rid of anything I'm not taking to America with me and gutting the old room before I go.

At the moment I'm enjoying a Lemp's Standard Lager Beer from St. Louis:

America's first lager, and the original St. Louis Beer -- you won't get this one, InBev!

It's not the best lager I've ever had, but for a historian, it's fun to drink.

Just finished an ice cold Purple Haze from Abita Springs Brewery in Louisiana. One of my favorite summer beers.

Having had "enough" back in '89 I'm now into lemonade. Drinking lemonade. Doing so cuts way back on the need for police, paramedics, ER doctors, psych ward techs, and divorce lawyers to attend to my affairs.

So, raising a cold lemonade and trying not to listen to that most delicious sound of ice tinkling against the glass....
