The fact of the matter is that if you are going to study Iron Maiden, then you should first study Deep Purple
Oh Come On!!! You know they are all rip-offs of the GREATEST BRITISH METAL BAND IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. PART 1...

That is all I have to say.
Not to mention Wishbone Ash, and the numerous other progressive and jazz groups of the period.

They go up to 11!
If Nicko can do that live, great! But on studio, he used a double pedal.
Don't forget Thin Lizzy!

I myself think it all started to go downhill after Clif died. Jason was a good bassist, though, even though you can't even hear him on Justice. What do you guys think of Trajillo?
Just kidding, guys. Up the Irons!

Who? I don't recognize those people.
Just kidding. I was just playing Orion on my bass a few minutes ago. Trujillo is a far cry from whoever ruined St Anger. The bass on that one was awefull! It sounded like Kirk decided "Hey! I'm a badass guitar player. How hard can bass be?" There was no groove, no feel... Trujillo is a good bassist, though.

Bob Rock and James ruined St. Anger...not that would've been any better. I'll take Trujillo over Newstead but Steve Harris beats em both!

So it was Rock and Hetfield that played bass? And no... that piece of :crap: was unsalvagable. I can't for the life of me figure out how they thought it was a good idea. Truth is, Death Magnetic is the first Metallica album that I've actually liked since the black album. And yeah, Harris destroys both. He's not the most technical player in the world, but his songwriting and outright feel and groove are second to none.
