I've seen gluten-free beer. Haven't the need for it myself, so can't talk to the taste -- but it's out there!

I've not yet found it in a store, but honestly I prefer ciders anyway so that's not as much of a sacrifice. The biggest thing I've been craving is pizza and I have the ingredients to attempt a gluten free crust hopefully tonight

There are actually several on the market now that aren't too bad. My wife was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 4 years ago so I have become quite the expert. Feel free to PM or email me if you have any questions...it does get easier.
As for the Beer, Anheiser Busch makes a sorgum beer called Red Bridge which is fairly similar to a Tecate. Being an A-B product just about any distributer should be able to get it for you. Bard's is another that I know of, but have not tried. They have a "locater" on their website that shows it is availbale in KY as well. Our current favorite is Lake Front Brewery's New Grist which is a very light and crisp beer made from sorgum and rice flour.

Good luck with the new diet, I promise it gets easier!
