    Not so low that it looks draggy, but not so high that it clanks against your belt buckle when you sit down.
    Generally though, higher looks and feels better, at least to me.

    These comments about Americans wearing their sporrans too low surprise me. I suppose I may be one of those who may do this occasionally. When I began wearing the kilt, I was told to allow a hand's-width between the belt and the sporran, which I do sometimes, but not always. If this is wrong, then I have been corrected. But, when I look at all the vintage photos posted by OC Richard of Scots wearing the sporran, I see sporrans hanging just as low.

    Me too, I've never really questioned this before, and now I can't seem to decide exactly where my sporran should hang.
