Derek,
Would you be able to take a moment to post the verse and chorus chord structures? That would help me in charting out some brass lines. Thanks!

Got the dropbox invite, will get to it very soon.
When the other add-ons are available (pipes, guitar, bass...), do you update the tracks ?

Hi BDV .... if I'm reading your question right ... once everyone has recorded their track, they simply upload into their shared file..(That is just the track you recorded .. I wont need the kyd n vox track back)... I will then collect it from the folder and download it back into the song my end ... then once its all in, I will mix it and put any effects on anything n eq if needed in the mix. Just need OC Richard n PiperChris email address now.

This got me thinking (lookout, world) that we should make some quick introductions.
I'm Bren. I play, write, and produce music as an occupation but I love new opportunities to jam with others and learn new styles. My background is mostly in the Rock world but I've branched out into other genres as each gig calls for.
I look forward to having fun with this XMTS jam session. I'm taking a break from my usual project and this is a nice musical getaway/diversion. Sometimes it's nice to just play music for the sake of fun instead of out of obligation.
Kudos to Derek for getting the ball rolling. I owe you a pint, mate.

I received the file but since I just moved, my recording set up isn't completely re-connected. I should have some files recorded within the next two weeks. Is that timeline too long?

Hi Derek,
I understand that I'll only upload my tracks. What I am curious to know is when you'll have some tracks available, will you update the original kyd n vox track to include additional instruments? Do we only work with the original track or can we work with all of the tracks as they are available?

I used to sing in a rock band (no, you haven't heard of me, LOL!). I also have a deep voice, and can't reach the high notes in typical tenor arrangements. Think Bing Crosby or Johnny Cash, or even Elvis Presley, as far as pitch is concerned. Unlike the latter, people have been known to complain that I don't move enough when singing, but I do have the long rock star hair! Anyway, doesn't sound like you need another singer.

OK Derek I just got two email addresses from my friend with the recording studio, and I've PM'd them to you.
He's a full-blown techie so I'm sure he will know how to make everything work.
I think that if I lay down a few variants of the melody and a couple different harmony ideas you can move stuff around and layer stuff however you wish. (Aren't computers great?)
