I thought they looked really cool (and yes, I wore Ponderosa shirts in the 1960's and thought they looked cool too). As I grew older, my tastes changed and I don't wear it any more. Patrick, I guess what I'm getting at is that I can see why you like them, even if I don't wear them .
Thank you Macman.

Patrick , I'm definitely not a kilt expert, and it's no business of mine what you wear. As far as I'm concerned you could wear a purple and yellow polka dot bikini top if you want. However since you asked for opinions, I will show you what came up while I was searching for Scottish Halloween costumes the other day.

This was supposed to be an edit, pardon the double post.
Patrick, usually when I don't know how to do something, I have found it best to basically copy someone who does know what they are doing. Who do you think I should copy below?

Well, if it is my personal choice out of the pictures and there are no right or wrong answers, I would go with number 2. I think his look stands out more than the first one, and it looks more Scottish to me, if that makes sense.
But hey, I'm not saying I wear a Ghillie Shirt 100% of the time, just 90-95% of the time. I may change up a bit, I may wear a shirt and tie or a plain white t-shirt. I actually have some kilt t-shirts that would be suitable for sports events, not that I go to sports events. But if I did! Scottish-themed t-shirts basically. I'm not going to lie, I love the shirt.

I wasn't trying to look like a costume, I was camping in the photo you provided and a Ghillie Shirt actually seems appropriate. But, I'm trying to a cultural sort of look, I took my kilt wearing influence from pictures of Jacobites and that's how I wear the kilt to this day. When I saw the shirt online, I went into my regular place and bought one.

Well, obviously the items you are wearing are real, and I didn't intend to imply that YOU were wearing a costume, just that those shirts are viewed by many as stereotypical Scottish attire, which has been mentioned in previous posts by others. You actually don't look all that bad to me for the photo shoot, but personally I don't understand your choice of dress shoes with white socks for that kind of rocky and dirty terrain.
P.S. Beautiful area BTW.

Well, I don't really like wearing normal footwear with a kilt, same way I don't really like wearing normal tops with a kilt, and rarely do.
Thank you tokareva, it is a place called Lochearn, it's up by Stirling and that kind of area.
