Love my windscreen - didn't think I would until I took a chunk of debris square in the middle of it.
Oh, and since we've not discussed helmets, modular with full-face shield (always ride with the chin bar down).

Glad to hear that you're wearing your skid lid. You do pass go, you do collect a kilt.

Guess I'll change the order of my next purchase - riding pants before the next kilt!
I've had nurses pulling stuff out of my arsebones... Shards of metal and crap. I still have enough in there that they couldn't find or couldn't get to that I frequently set off metal detectors.
Arseplates stuffed in to the back pocket of your levis are better than nothing and have saved my skin a few times. I tried to land on my back mostly, because my jacket is armored leather... Exceptionally thick stuff made hard by boiling in wax. (My jacket is over 1/8th thick, almost a quarter inch in some spots) Weighs over 20 pounds. And let me tell you, it was worth every penny spent on it. You can never over spend on items to save your skin. Want to save a hundred bucks buying second best? Ask your self if your **** is worth a hundred bucks.
I have places on my body (Namely, my foot) where the road rash has NEVER healed. It is now a permanant fixture. Still scabby and rotten and never healing. (And that was with good boots even) Blacktop will cheese grater your soft squishy sack of meat body.
Just don't skimp on protective gear!

I've heard it put, by a high speed biker when discussing Deal's Gap:
"Chaps preserve the shins, knees, and thighs, BUT KISS YOUR@$$$ GOODBYE!!!"
When I get my 4 wheeled "bike" (7-esque car):

I plan to unvest in "sports bike" jackets to save upper torso!!
(and this thing has 4 WHEELS!!!)

I have a modular full face helmet from HJC. I really like it. It is easy to put on for someone like me who has to wear glasses all the time, and yes I ride with the chin bar down. A regular full face helmet is a PITA with glasses.
I have been looking at a 3/4 helmet from HJC. It still has a full face shield. It would be a bit cooler in the summer.

Sounds like the one I have, and the reason I like it so much!
I do have to keep the shield cracked a bit most of the year to control the fogging, but other than that, it's super!

Buy some defogger spray. Especially good on rainy days with lots of humidity.
One application lasts about a week.

Even with the spray I need to keep it cracked. Just part of being me, I guess. (Too much hot air?)

I keep my screen cracked open too. I use defogger spray too. In my experience the spray does not work as well on those cool early morning rides.

Check out this helmet from Ski Doo. For cheap defogging I used to use shaving cream.
