I'm afraid I've already committed us to being the Loud family at the Campbell games. Certainly I'll wear it to beer night in June though. I unfortunately have plans tomorrow so will not likely be able to finish it in time for this month's beer night .

I did quite a bit more this afternoon/early evening.

Sewed up the fell.



Here it is all sewn, next to the apron.



And next to the underapron.



It looks a little lumpy, but smooths out when wrapped around a waist.

Here, I'm pinning down all the floppy bits at the waist.



And sewing across the top for more strength. This is just a big sloppy seam, across and back (since it will be hidden under the waistband.



Next, the waistband...

Waistbands are fun, easy and cool. In fact everything is fun, easy and cool compared to tapering!!!!!

Lining up my extra strip of fabric to be sure it matches the apron (skirt is to the left-top of the overapron).



Cutting a 4 inch strip. I actually ended up trimming this down, as I did not want such a wide waistband.



Pinning on the waistband to the outside.



Sewing it on.



Then, I folded it up and ironed it nice and hard.

More ironing, this time to fold over the top and tuck in the inside of the waistband.



Tucking in the edge of the under apron part of the waistband (this part won't show anyway, but I can't help but be a bit of a perfectionist).



I pinned the waistband in place and tried a little preview.

I've also decided I want a bit of a fringed edge to the over apron. This requires ripping out a little of the hem and fringing and attaching a strip like so...



I pinned it in place, but now, I need to hand sew the inner aspect of the waistband and sew the fringe on. This will have to wait for another free day (probably next Thursday).

Let's see, my vet says his time is worth...
Lot of time tied up in that kilt, must be worth a small fortune.

I didn't keep an accurate count of the time spent, but I would guess this thing is probably worth about $2000.00, based on what I could be earning during that same amount of time. Still, it is therapy for me, which would have cost well over $2000.00 for the same amount of time and I wouldn't have had anything concrete to show for it at the end .
