    I've been thinking of something similar, but with leather on the outside and fabric pleats to save weight. I had also thought of a knife pleat with water painted on that becomes whitewater waves when the pleats open, obviously a bit more ambitious. I'll try finishing my second "weathered saffron" Xkilt first.
