X Kilt with tartan lined pleats

I've been trying to figure out what to do next. I think this thread just resurrected my desire to sew another kilt.

I've been thinking of something similar, but with leather on the outside and fabric pleats to save weight. I had also thought of a knife pleat with water painted on that becomes whitewater waves when the pleats open, obviously a bit more ambitious. I'll try finishing my second "weathered saffron" Xkilt first.
