It looks like as many people as I met, I missed even more. Didn't get to see you this time Ron, sorry I missed you. Same for you Prester John, didn't catch a glimpse that I know of, but I did meet with several others.
I ran into Keys of course, since he was throwing on the same field though in a different class. I've got to tell you, he's a great guy and I wish I had more time to have spent with him.
I also ran into Retro Red and his lovely lady, Ayin, and most of the others in that 'Sonoran Scotsmen' pic.
I'll be posting a full write up, but I won 1st place in the B class (never did that before!) and set FIVE personal records at the Games. Part of it was a very forgiving sloped field, but some of it was just hitting my stride and lots and lots of practice paying off. Look for a full post with pics and vids.

I may be lovely but I'm not a lady. LOL.
Most of the Sonoran Scotsmen got on site about 11:30 or noon, and we stayed there until about 3:00 or so, and then headed over the Brian's pub downtown. I think Ron was already gone by the time I got there, but I did run into a bunch of people which was nice. I saw the gentlemen in the Black Stewart kilt, and i ALMOST walked over and said hi to him, because he looked familiar but I second guessed myself. Dangit.
There were a few others that I was hoping to meet but I had NO CLUE what they looked like so I didn't even know who I was looking for. The next time we all schedule to go meet, everyone should post at least one picture of themselves, so that we at least have a clue who we're looking for.
We took a bunch of pictures, and as soon as we get them uploaded I'll make sure to post them here.
Slainte!

Great photo's! You got several of me and at least one of Keys McQuarrie competing in there. Thanks for posting those.
Maybe I'll see you in San Diego then?

My first highland games were most enjoyable - to the point that I walked away with a rather nasty sunburn on my forehead (note to self, wear a hat!)
I drove up that am and took my cousin and her family who live up there the to games with me. They all loved it as well, though we were a little disappointed that our clan (Bruce) didn't have a booth. The kids loved it when the sheep escaped into the crowd and were enthralled by the caber toss (they weren't the only one).
I almost bought my first kilt there at the Celtic Craft Centre booth. was impressed with their quality and that they had my family tartan available at no extra charge (unlike all the ones on the net I've found). Sadly I didn't have enough, guess my first one will be a sport kilt or stillwater thifty.
I took almost 80 photos and posted them on my site for everyone to enjoy. I didn't meet anyone from here, but being a newbie I really didn't know what anyone looked like. I'm Looking forward to my next games, perhaps I'll try to hit up the San Diego one.
