    Welcome from Salt Lake City! I too am a student, I purchased both of my kilts from Stillwater kilts. I am pleased with both! Trust me, once I am not socking so much in student loans I will be in the market for a proper 8 yard tank!

    Just found a tape, my true waist is about 31-32 inches. If I were to pull my size 32 pants up that high, they'd be way loose; I think the numbers are smaller as a marketing ploy (my jeans waist should actually be 35 inches).
    my trousers are bought with a waist of 32" however, my true waist (between the navel and bottom ribs) is 34". Your true waist and your trousers waist will never align themselves. I would suggest and have seen it noted that you should have someone else measure you for it to be accurate.
