My pipe band has 10 parades and one concert during March, so I'll be kilted quite a lot, including the "big one" up 5th Avenue in NYC on the 17th (I'm taking the day off for that one). The band tartan is Ancient Lamont.

well, I'm not sure what I'll be wearing, but I'll definitely be celebrating it, I have a lot of Irish ancestors that have made sacrifices for my family and this is my way of honoring all of that.

I'll be wearing either my Irish National or my solid green. Since I wear the kilt a lot, it won't be like I'm dressing up in a costume just for the day.

I will be wearing my Irish National on the day itself. It won't seem out of place as I wear kilts two to three days a week at work. Some people even seem upset if they haven't seen me in awhile if I am in pants

When I pull out my uilleann pipes (which is rare), I wear comfortable clothes. The last thing I need to be worrying about while playing that beast is what I'm wearing. Honestly, I'd just wear some khaki trousers and a green button down shirt.

I have some friends in Belfast that would strongly disagree with you.

I usually don't wear it if I'm just out and about (definitely not to work as that wouldn't go over well in the inner-city school where I teach.) I generally try to wear primarily orange as my "Protestant protest". (All in good religious humor.)
I will of course wear my kilt in the Baton Rouge St. Patrick's Day parade though where I march the pipe band as part of the honor guard.

I usually have on my Utilikilt and a green polo shirt. I don't have a tartan kilt because of an allergy to wool. If I'm at work I wear my green polo even though its not dress code. Nobody ever says anything. Now that I have a tan UK that does fit in with dress code, whether they like it or not. I have worn it to work plenty of times and another guy decided to get one too!

And I will wear a white t-shirt for neutrality
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
