Yes we have the files, I should be going into the studio tonight, and recording the tune on pipes and various whistles, which you can (I'm assuming) move about and arrange how you wish.
I'll put down an uilleann drone track (D) too in case you want to use that underneath at any point.
See ya! Richard

You all are too tech savvy for me, and I'm pretty late chiming in here. I play Irish flute (fully keyed, so I'm good in whatever key). I have a small sony recorder which will do .wav files, but its mic is pretty poor. Our band leader has a home recording studio, but I have no clue how he does any of it. Here's a pic of kilted me playing out at our local Renaissance Festival:

Derek we had so much fun last night, my friends and I!
Georgiana, Matt, and I (who have been playing Irish and Scottish music together since the 1980s) got off work, gathered at Georgiana's place, where Matt and her have an elaborate home studio set up, had some fine IPAs, listened to your track, and went to work on my bits.
They hadn't done the thing before, of adding a click track to an existing project, but armed with the tempo and time signature they had it figured out soon.
I put down uilleann pipe melody (chanter only) on the intro and instrumental break, a 2nd uilleann track playing a harmony part (a descant, sort of) on the instrumental break, a separate track which runs throughout the entire song with the uilleann drones (playing D), and a pennywhistle track on the intro doubling the melody.
Georgiana sent all these separate tracks, plus a demo mix of them all, to the dropbox. The separated tracks are raw, but she put reverb on the demo mix, I think.
It was a load of fun and Matt and Georgiana learned a few new tricks with their recording program, which they've only had for a couple weeks, I think.
Thanks! Richard

I did email you earlier Richard , Georgiana and Matt. Thanks for what you have done in this musical adventure.
You guys have done a superb job and I have put it in the mix already and its sounding real real lush ... will send you an mp3 of it. Unfortuntaely x markers will have to wait until the whole song is finished ... soz ...
On a side note for everyone who is participating, once I have downloaded the wav files you send me this end, I will erase them from the folder so as to free up the space that we have 'free' with dropbox for the others to put their part in .. its already being used up fast ...

Thanks Derek, it was fun!
I don't know how these programs work, but I believe Matt was saying that, for example, you could take the uilleann harmony/descant track I did and move it over so it was behind one of the vocal verses. He was saying something about it being tricky but possible if everything lined up properly. It's why I didn't record a harmony/descant on any of the vocal verses, seemed like the vocal verses and the instrumental break had the same structure.
But as I said, I don't know anything about how any of that tech stuff works.
Thanks again, and looking forward to your original song
