Bubba, do you have MacNeil and Gordon clan connections? I do, my father was a McNeill, (sept of tha MacNeil clan) and my mother was a gordon.

I do have MacNeil connections. Greely, part of the MacGrail, a sept of MacNeil of Barra. I also have Hamilton connections, but I don't wear red too well. The Gordon Dress I found at the fabric store on sale for $3 a yard.

You just need to prowel the fabric stores alot. It's amazing what you can find in the cloe outs and on the bargain tables. That's how I get almost all the fabrics I use. I find the best stuff at Hancock Fabrics. Jo Anns seems to be catering more to the craft and quilting people these days.

I think that is right Bubba, While there still is a lot of fabric, they don't cary the better stuff in most stores it seems, not even any wool tartans in this area and the good cotton lilke Amerikilt uses is not stocked there either. The manager said they may have wool and the better cotton in the JoAnn stores in larger cities.

Yeah, Jo Anns does alot of fat quarters, novelty, sports and childrens prints, stuff aimed at quilting and some stuff for formal gowns and lots of fleece. Hancock seems to carry stuff of all sorts, but less aimed at quilting. Hancocks here has lots more fabrics than Jo Anns and some great deals in the bargain racks.

Welcome to the board GG, you have a fine collection of kilts and your tartans look great in your piccies, I do like the larger fringe on the side of the front apron, nicely done.
