Heh, well, a kilt would never do on a construction jobsite. It's pretty much universal policy that on a jobsite, pants, steel-toed boots, and a hard hat must be worn. And I don't think I'd dare wear a kilt to a jobsite anyway.
I'm in the office today - St. Andrew's Day - and I'm wearing outfit #1. Shoes are shined, and I went with a dark blue tie that sort of matches the blue in my kilt. I couldn't find my old Russian pocket watch, but I picked up another one over the weekend for a good price and I'm wearing it instead.
We got a heck of a cold front that blew in last night, so it's cold, windy, and rainy. Perfect kilt-wearing weather!

Well, all in all, my first kilted day at work went pretty well. No negative comments or trouble.
One of the older fellas at work gave me a high five when he saw my kilt. Which I found odd for a man of his age (near retirement). I've never seen him do that before.
Our field operations manager is the guy I was anticipating would give me trouble over the kilt. Surprisingly, though, his only comment was to ask why in the heck I would wait for the coldest weather we've had so far this season to wear the thing.

Suggested response: which is warmer, gloves or mittens?
Or as PiobBear says: I'm wearing enough wool to knit a sheep; why would I be cold?
